05 Before the Fuel Test: The Automatic Electrical Check
Before evaluating hydraulic performance, first establish that the Common Rail injector’s electrical actuator is acceptable.
A necessary first step
Solenoid and piezoelectric Common Rail injectors depend on electrical actuation. If the actuator’s electrical characteristics are outside acceptable limits, its response cannot simply be assumed to be correct.
That is why the DIT31 testing workflow begins with an automatic, mandatory electrical check for the supported Common Rail injector. No separate multimeter or additional manual electrical measurement is needed for this integrated check.
Then examine actual performance
Passing an electrical check does not prove that the whole injector is operating correctly. It establishes an essential prerequisite before examining how the injector actually injects under the relevant test conditions.
Key point: An automatic preliminary check simplifies the workflow without confusing electrical acceptability with full injector performance.
